Police Say a Man Entered Backyards and Watched Women Inside Tempe Homes

Tempe peeping tom investigation: Police look for additional victims
Michael DiBenedetto is accused of entering Tempe backyards to secretly watch women. Investigators suspect there may be additional victims in the community.

Something smacks of cop-calling whores cultivating a fake paranoia here. Active solicitation of additional charges against a defendant is an illegal terror tactic by cops, too.

Anyone who sees a person looking through a window, entering a fenced yard, or moving through an alley near homes should avoid confrontation, get to a safe place, and call police while details are still fresh.

A decent lady doesn't call male cops at work to inform them she is naked or undressed.

As the investigation continued, detectives began surveilling Dibenedetto.

That's no longer decent.

Police said he removed his pants and “engaged in lewd conduct” while looking into a room where a woman was undressing. He was taken into custody without incident.

The women are strippers or prostitutes and the man is at worst a potential patron or suitor of them. Otherwise it's perfectly normal for a man to duck behind a fence or take a leak in a backyard or behind a utility shed, particular when he's being actively pursued and surveilled, possibly fleeing gunfire, with no other options.
