A multi-agency investigation culminated this week in arrests and raids at seven of the businesses, which authorities said operate as prostitution enterprises that harbor sex trafficking victims.

It’s unclear from the initial charging documents whether investigators identified anyone who was forced, coerced, deceived or threatened to perform sex acts on customers.

The investigation entailed undercover officers visiting various massage parlors and posing as customers looking for sex in exchange for money, a criminal complaint stated.
- Cops’ getting massages is for off duty only.
- Male officers’ asking for sex and offering money directly for it is unbecoming and unnecessary.
- An undercover man can introduce himself as single or unmarried with a good paying job and get the same results without implicating himself.
- Cops’ dating and socializing should be confined to off hours.
- It’s a massage, not a tattoo. Morally no worse than a chiropractor. It's not intended to cause any harm or leave any permanent marks or scars. Work out at the gym and chill. Or try some martial arts or tai chi or yoga or something.
- You never can tell if a single male cop is dating legit in Alaska or if he’s BDSM and just wants to put his girlfriend in jail and/or kill all competing suitors.
- It’s a small town. You can’t go undercover.
- Poor immigrant dudes aren’t really pimps. You need a lot more money and power and real estate than that to be a pimp, but cops always prey on the weak and disadvantaged.
Not a nightclub anyways. A massage needs a healing technique and a discipline with strength to put to it. Not for sex and not for pleasure. Good workout at the gym to go with it.
No doubt the guys are pumping iron at the gym and practicing martial arts for those inevitable one-on-one meetings with overly encumbered and shifty undercover cops in back alleys.
