“Volunteers” show up
On a sketchy automated license plate reader warrant
… charged with arson after authorities say he set three separate fires across a 30-hour window, then had the audacity to show up with his own fire company to help extinguish two of them …
A little bit sketchy. No independent confirmation by witnesses.
… the assumption of good character that comes with the badge makes betrayals like this cut deeper than most. …
He's a volunteer firefighter. He doesn't have any trust or access to anything to start a fire with any more than any other member of the barbecuing and smoking public.
How License Plate Readers Broke the Case … License plate reader technology, commonly known as LPR, has quietly become one of the most powerful investigative tools in modern law enforcement. … If a particular license plate keeps appearing near multiple fire scenes, that vehicle's owner becomes a person of interest quickly.
Even sketchier.
What Investigators Found in His Car: Once Sholly was identified, a search warrant gave investigators a look inside his vehicle, and what they found was not subtle. Authorities recovered wood logs, lighter fluid, a BIC lighter, a Motorola fire radio, and a box of fire starter materials from Sholly's car and garage.
Would the said authorities think a volunteer firefighter should not carry a fire crew radio for some reason? None of the materials found according to the article are incriminating or suspicious for anyone with a wood stove, fireplace or barbecue, or anyone who goes camping with family on vacation occasionally either.
Terrible story if true, but more likely than not, some possibly gay volunteer dude with longish hair and earrings is hanging out with a skinhead white supremacist crew of highly paid professional first responders.
Some guy with a slightly unusual style or appearance is framed on serious charges with extremely sketchy “evidence.” The talkativeness of investigators gives it away. Cops who talk too much are lying.
