Too much drinking advice

In the Bible Belt

This is weird. Go to church on Sunday, and I'm sure there's the same advice not to drink alcohol, but it has little or nothing to do with the weather.

Americans advised not to drink alcohol in 18 states
Multiple states had been issued heat-related alerts from the National Weather Service as of Monday morning.

Ultimately the liquor store is open, and so are plenty of bars and nightclubs to anyone of age 21 or older.

I may not be a big alcohol drinker myself, but what of it? I have nothing to prove by my abstinence and sobriety. It's just not anyone's business what I drink or choose not to drink. It shouldn't be.

I do hang around some places where people don't trust me if I don't drink with them.

If a big heat wave comes along, I assume people eat and drink as they normally would, dress for hot weather, except alcoholic and/or highly caffeinated beverages are simply not enticing in very hot weather, with fresh water and non-alcoholic beverages, plenty of fluids with natural electrolytes being generally so much more desirable and refreshing in the heat.

If such non-alcoholic beverages and plenty of them are "appropriate" in the heat, people of age scarcely need to be told that, other than to ensure that enough fresh drinking water is available in emergencies. We need disaster preparedness, not Alcoholics Anonymous talking points.

The rest of us are observing what's being served and/or sold to drink, and actions speak louder than unsolicited advice.
