Too much absolute power in hands of FTC

I don't about the crimes but the malicious prosecution is exposing bad faith in the government

Martin Shkreli violated lifetime pharma industry ban, FTC and states say in contempt claim
Shkreli was banned from the pharmaceutical industry after a trial found that he organized an illegal scheme to perpetuate a monopoly for the drug Daraprim.
The Federal Trade Commission and seven states asked a federal judge in New York on Tuesday to hold notorious "Pharma bro" Martin Shkreli in contempt, alleging he "flagrantly and repeatedly violated" a 2022 civil court order that had banned him for life from the pharmaceutical industry. ¶The FTC and the states allege that Shkreli, since being released from prison in May 2022 for unrelated financial crimes, violated that court order by publicly trading in at least 60 pharmaceutical industry stocks and "publicly broadcasting his opinions about the business and management of many Pharmaceutical Companies through livestreaming and posting on numerous social media platforms, including YouTube, X, and Reddit," a court filing says.

I don't know about Martin Shkreli but the prospect of a Federal Trade Commission and a federal court system arbitrarily censoring and controlling all social media communications on platforms such as YouTube, X, and Reddit is truly frightening. It means that all major social media platforms are effectively government owned enterprises. The fact that the US government "banned" TikTok until taking control of that particular platform is also frightening.

Putting a guy in prison for "unrelated crimes" that have nothing to with the motives of prosecuting or imprisoning him is also false imprisonment.
