Prohibition in “dry” towns and villages in Alaska

Where big label alcohol labels are forbidden and bootlegging is rampant.

Rotgut liquor is present in the backwoods, and it has absolutely nothing to do with labeled liquor bottles in the mail.

Alaska law enforcement seizures of illegal alcohol quadrupled last year
The presence of additional investigators in the Southwest Alaska hub communities of Bethel and Dillingham helping to intercept illegal alcohol.

And for that matter, what exactly is wrong with a properly labeled and sealed bottle of liquor in the mail marked fragile? It certainly is not worth the progressive invasion of privacy or the opening up or obstruction of the mails generally.

For the fact that someone under 21 years of age by chance might get hold of a piece of mail containing say a sealed and labeled bottle with 1-2 shots of liquor, any legitimate law enforcement authorities anywhere in the world have much more important things than that to concern themselves with.

Large quantities of illegal street drugs are being dealt right under the noses of these very same government officials and with their full tacit approval and protection, for one thing.

There are clean and sober living environments and halfway houses in larges cities, but Prohibition in small towns is not conducive to a decent way of life of people minding their own business.

I am not really a drinker of alcohol. It is just one of any number of things I definitely do not want or need dirty cops nosing around my property looking for.
