Nationalization of land vs. availability of housing
People who enjoy being outdoors need some public land to enjoy such activities but there is nothing inherently “profitable” about it except possibly for the collection of access fees for public use.

The City of Leavenworth in Washington State is of course not to be confused with a city by the same name in Kansas which has long been famous for its military and federal prison complex.

Much of this land which was nationalized by the federal conservation grant could have been put to better use as land for single-family dwelling units suitable for families with children who would have had opportunity to run and play in the woods and develop healthy social skills rather than being raised as gangsters in cramped inner-city multi-family dwelling units.
The traditional 30-year mortgage is not always the best choice but it is or once was probably the most viable option for housing assistance especially for married couples and families with children. An entire house to oneself is not usually the most practical or desirable option for a single person without children. The 30-year home loan system is somewhat dependent on people being married and faithful and actually staying together at the said home — which is not really happening in this day and age of online dating and sex-for-money social networks such as Onlyfans, Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook etc.
International espionage is a big cause and contributing factor of marital infidelity.
At a certain level, people know instinctively whether or not they and their spouses are being faithful to one another, to the extent of what they choose to acknowledge or admit to themselves. It is not really possible to give an opinion about “open marriages” versus normal faithful married people who simply confess their sins openly to one another. There are people who do not mind their own business on a diplomatic or international scale, and consequently there is a great deal of human trafficking and third-party arrangements of sexual encounters taking place, often across international borders.
The privacy issue — or the “private property” issue — is then another big obstacle to the 30-year home loan which has long been preached by the big banks as a bastion of social stability. By the time a purchase of a house is a done deal and the couple have moved in, they discover that spies have taken up residence in their neighborhood, unexplained and uncharacteristic “issues” are showing up at the breadwinner’s place of employment together with a few odd and unexplained police matters on which the police officers themselves refuse to appear in court, and it’s time to move again, get the hell out of town and look for another job, kids and all, if the government will even allow the father to stay with the mother and children anymore.
