The Pentagon has revoked former U.S. Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall’s access to classified information.
The Pentagon revoked former U.S. Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall’s “eligibility” to access classified information and barred him from holding “any sensitive position,” alleging Friday that he disclosed sensitive information about Air Force One’s capabilities to the media. ¶It follows reporting last month, including from The New York Times, on security concerns over the new, Qatari-gifted Air Force One, including that it lacked the advanced antimissile capabilities of its forebear.
It's a luxury passenger jet of known make and model, a Boeing 747-8, reportedly. Free plane. Take it or leave it. This thing is well checked out for airworthiness and is almost assuredly safe as anything else in the air to fly the President, but it doesn't have any other special capabilities beyond that.
It wasn't built for combat and nobody ever said it was. And combat jets don't have room inside for a full-fledged flying Oval Office suite, so don't ask for the luxury office suite amenities in a combat jet.
You can't have your cake and eat it too. It's an airplane and you have to watch your weight.
