Cancer and subtle signs of possible radiation sickness

I had the same symptoms when I chanced upon a long-forgotten nuclear waste dump several years ago. I saw where some ore had been loaded into a concrete mixer on a conveyor belt and the whole project suddenly abandoned and upon further investigation I discovered why.
The ore was uranium, not highly enriched, but nonetheless a critical mass of it (about a one or two tons) had been loaded into the hopper, and it had melted down.
It was really hot, looked like weld splatter all over the place, and each little chunk of it was a slightly sub-critical mass of plutonium.
I held one in my hand, it tingled from the radiation, and after about five seconds started burning. Just like Marie Curie getting burnt.
A large gray wolf 🐺 which I barely even saw, but an occasional fresh paw print or perhaps even a flick of the tail around a corner, guided me back to safety. I had diarrhea due to acute radiation sickness but, discretion being the better part of valor, I avoided all medical clinics. Louis Slotin and Harry Daghlian didn't die until after they had gone to the hospital following the Demon Core incidents. People have different opinions but doctors tend to be peaceniks. Whose lives will they save and whose will they abandon or intentionally end? Namely the doctors maintain their own unspoken codes and unwritten rules of justice and revenge behind the counter of medical practice.
