Most men don't want to be sex offenders or rapists. But large numbers of women do prostitute themselves and they almost always want to be in a strong legal position to press rape charges or pursue various restraining orders or other obnoxious process against a man they will soon tire of.
Most men don't want to be “pick-up artists” either. A true “pick-up artist” is a slick salesman or con man, and he's always after your money, not love or sex, whatever he is selling.
A man with a strong sales pitch to go on a romantic date with a woman will probably be stood up on the date or picked up by cops. It's a bit unseemly for a man to sell himself so hard. As if a woman will accept a man's romantic offers on a coldly calculated basis of pros and cons.
