Fedora Linux computer security and related matters
“Call for Proposals” open until February 2 for a Fedora Linux symposium to be held June 14-16, 2026 in Prague, Czech Republic.
“Flock” to Fedora

There is a lot of emphasis on the computer software development “community” from a dystopian Eastern Europe, former DDR, former USSR, ex-KGB, ex-GRU, ex-Stasi perspective. Some people view free and open software as a form of communism. We do not. We choose to publish and permit free copying, fair use, modification and auditing of certain software we write ourselves and which is our original creation. Any computer software related to security is obviously made with goals of protecting private property.

These are some of the larger foundations or organizations that are best placed to define free and open source software respectively.
ACLU and the “Flock” video cameras
First, the product itself. Just enter your computer password under video surveillance.
This is a court ruling from Skagit County in Washington, the same state as Skamania County which is famous throughout the world for its “Bigfoot” ordinance.

The Czech Police
The Police of the Czech Republic can speak for themselves. There’s too much makeup in a red-light district, it’s all lipstick on a pig. We all eat pork, and are not ashamed of it, right? I kid you not. These cops are Nazis, not Jews, and here we thought it was the Jews who were in control of City Hall and it was some grand conspiracy. Impossible. They’re all Nazis. That’s too much makeup in a red-light district. Just go ahead. Hold a free software convention in a totalitarian police state. Or what East Germany turned into after the Soviets defeated the Nazis. Or the Poles who did nothing to stop the massacre in Auschwitz and subsequently denied the Holocaust altogether. Go figure. That is in fact the same red-light district in fact where Jan Hus was burned at the stake hundreds of years ago for his writings about The Church.

What’s wrong with the cops? They’re friendly, aren’t they? No, no, no! That is totally unacceptable, and not without historical precedent. There is far too much statecraft, tradecraft and foreign intelligence surveillance at play, there are way too many cops, they f*** too hard, and they are too well armed in a state where the people are unlawfully deprived of their rightful arms and access to arms. Open up the iron curtain first, and shove those dirty cops out of our faces, and only then shall we participate openly in free software. There are simply far too many working cops on the beat for all of them to have good intentions toward us or our visitors for working in good faith on free and open source software.

And you need an attorney if you travel from the U.S. to attend a symposium like this and intend to return.
Crossing Back Into the U.S.? Expect Eyes on Your Devices

What are all those beautiful cops looking for? Yes, Ma’am. They are concentrating mainly on our laptop computers and electronic devices, and not much on drugs or anything else of note.
