Faithless churches, church vice, cop-calling prostitutes and "holy rollers"
Is there any faith to be found at all among the congregation when disreputable process servers, private investigators, divorce attorneys, disbarred lawyers and associated low-class law scum show up at church on Sunday?
Gamblers, brawlers, drug dealers, car thieves and their various legal counselors are obviously intent on either offering new "church" services or co-opting existing church services for the benefit of established pimps and johns to continue soliciting and receiving sexual services for money, while those that are either too poor for the ladies or not interested are removed from the property.

If wives are so inordinately or obsequiously "submissive" — willingly or not — that is only to document their alleged abuse in church for court and for service of process in court against their husbands or alleged husbands.
That is too much "BDSM" (bondage, discipline, sado-masochism, rape, and accusations of rape) as even Abraham was told to cast out the bondwoman and accept only the free woman as his wife.
Not that a wife would be fighting against her husband or rebelling against him, but that help which is too slavish or subservient is not meet for a man. If a woman is to "submit" herself to her own husband as according to the Bible, that is usually self-evident enough from her willingness to be with another person who is male and generally bigger and stronger than herself and not seek additional protection against him. If they love each other, they love each other, it's not going to be by force, and we can't really offer any judgments of them apart from that.
