The mental health bartenders have officially arrived
Alcoholism in mice and men
So presumably, according to this study, being forced to abstain from alcohol increases the risk of binge drinking when the habitual binge drinker once again has access to alcohol.

The study refers to forced abstinence, and not to abstinence by choice. The medieval reformer Martin Luther refers to the “bondage of the will” in opposition to the barroom Catholic philosophical position of “free will.”
Luther’s position is simply that human willpower is constrained to serve human appetites or addictions, and thus is not quite a “free will” as commonly supposed.
People can drink fresh fruit juice instead of fermented wine, or say unfermented barley malt or wheat grass juice instead of fermented beer, but the body still converts excess sugars and starches into alcohol in the process of digestion and metabolism. Biologically, there is no such thing as teetotalism or total absence of alcohol in the blood. “Blowing a zero” with such a proof of alcohol, roadside alcohol breath tests and cop-shop blood tests are not reliable but are subject to the cops’ lust for absolute power and ability to frame innocent drivers on arbitrary criminal charges. Breath-alcohol ignition interlock devices? Come on! Get real! Cops, lawyers and judges are all drunk and stoned and in trouble with the legal bar with any such mechanical contrivances or propriety electronic gimmickry in court.
Moderation in all things is the best that can be achieved in pursuit of sobriety — even to avoid all such beverages as are explicitly labeled to contain alcohol. Do not drive dehydrated in hot weather.
[Matthew 25:35–36] For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
The meat for the hungry is one thing on Judgment Day, even to have the guns to hunt for it, but the drink for the thirsty is another. Did you become a stranger when you were given something to drink at some establishment somewhere? Did you get arrested in a state of nakedness at some establishment of hospitality and wake up sick and in jail? Were you told you were mentally ill in prison and supposed to give up your guns for the rest of your life? For one drink at whatever establishment of supposed hospitality that is? Those are the leftists on that other side.
