Perhaps only a slight technicality but the domain is out-of-bounds for the full faith and credit of the United States and U.S. officials who see nothing wrong with Montenegran identity thieves at law in foreign courts.
The system at id.me otherwise appears identical or equivalent in functionality to login.gov. The top level domain ".gov" is used exclusively by the U.S. government online.
