SPAM and vienna sausages

Certain canned meats are very inexpensive delicacies

There's survival food you can actually eat and rotate through your stock. (Idk about Mormons etc. with seven years of food stored by in preparation for an Old Testament famine.)

Libby's and Armour are popular brands of vienna sausage.

SPAM is a flavorful canned sausage of pork and chicken. Good fried with pancakes and eggs for breakfast. Pacific Islanders like to make SPAM musibi — a slice of SPAM on a bed of rice wrapped with seaweed like sushi but served hot. Some have suggested making a SPAM sandwich with lettuce, tomato and onions like a hamburger, and why not? SPAM is a very similar sausage to that commonly sold as hot dogs or frankfurters.

Vienna sausages (or wieners) are more bland, very soft sausages of the same type of meat, with a rich gelled broth. Best cold on crackers or hot with beans.

As for Koreans and Vietnamese who have been rumored to eat dog meat, I'm assuming that's a humorously contemptuous consumerist mistranslation, and they actually eat hot dogs like Americans.
