Overreaction to rattlesnake bite?
Some people might be allergic to rattlesnakes possibly
I don’t know what “antivenom” is. Some doctors speak French and call it “antivenin,” but I don’t like magic potions or quackish cures. I wouldn't know what bit me with what venom. If there are really ready-made antidotes lining the shelves in the hospital pharmacy or supply room, I could browse the aisles of a liquor store for the same thing, if it isn’t just a shot of tequila anyways, some hair-of-the-dog cure.
Hydration? Basic supportive care? Some antihistamine or anti-inflammatory possibly?

It could be a pre-existing condition of edema in the leg.
When I was bit for the first time by a rattlesnake, I felt a little bit sick the next day, possibly just as must from sunstroke or being dehydrated as from the snakebite itself, and I drank a whole case of bottled water and a little fresh fruit with it.
After that I don't even notice rattlesnake bites, and I'd let the snakes earn their keep by eating rats and mice, which tend to carry fleas and cause much worse health problems for humans.
