As Protestants we despise Catholic vows of poverty and chastity. One would do well enough in general to keep up with the Ten Commandments, including "thou shalt not steal" and "thou shalt not commit adultery" as instructions for a Christian way of life without additional vows or peculiar rites.

The three nuns say they were taken out of the convent against their will and placed in a care home.

Not that they're doing anything "wrong" by refusing to abandon a church building — but there are things that just a little bit too "appropriate" going on in small towns like this, including the financing of the old folks home and the church officials dangling keys like that.
It's an indication of a less-than-decent church community that needs to take better care of old ladies who are widowed or never married.
