Non-apologizers and doctoral-level apologetics

Nazis were famous for their apologies too.

I'm sorry, but I'm going to hurt you anyways.... I don't want prescriptions from a nightclub.

4 pillars of a great apology
Learning to deliver a fantastic apology can change your relationships for the better, and gain more respect among your peers.
As many unfortunately know, doctors rarely apologize because it can become evidence in malpractice lawsuits. In settled lawsuits, they often include caveats that state no admission of wrongdoing — which feels silly given they’re paying out millions for that “lack” of wrongdoing. But this is a tough pill to swallow for people who has been legitimately harmed, even if they are well compensated. //In some states, they’ve passed laws making doctor apologies inadmissible in court.

Obviously such organized and widespread misuse of the knife and wholesale forcible prescription of unhealthful and unnecessary mind-altering drug regimens for alleged mental health causes is without excuse.

Avoidant and defensive: Adult attachment and quality of apologies

After committing an offense, transgressors face an important decision regarding how to respond to the people they hurt. Do they make themselves emotionally vulnerable by offering high-quality, comprehensive apologies? Or do they seek to protect themselves with defensive strategies, such as justifications and excuses?

There are other people (not doctors or cops or judges) who simply don't want to be held civilly liable or arrested for what they did wrong — if they did anything wrong — but if you're in court already, don't expect much in the way of apology.

I worked as a bouncer at a raucous night club. It taught me one important thing about people.
The lead bouncer looked at me with doubt on the first day. I was determined to prove him wrong. Here’s what happened, and what I learned in the process.
Sometimes, talking just didn’t work. We had to haul people out manually. ... And then there was just the general annoyingness of drunk people, their unpredictability, antics, and endless headaches they conjure. ... Needless to say, the guy was blacklisted from the club. ... My stint as a bouncer only lasted a few months before I handed in my badge.

There's more to it than that. Much more. But we don't go there.
