Is marijuana use really any worse than people spitting on the sidewalk or blowing smoke in your face at the bus stop?
It's not really clear if "THC" or "CBD" or any other claimed compound is the intoxicating component, or if the marijuana is being cut with psychedelics. How many people in courthouses and tall city buildings are smoking this stuff all day long without realizing it? Does it even matter?
Someone gave me a discarded jacket once with a few buds of marijuana in the pocket. Just get caught behind the wheel and/or arrested somewhere in a federal jurisdiction with few little balled up green leaves of something irrelevant. It's got to cut with artificial psychedelics if people are purchasing it at "dispensaries" or consuming it for that purpose. "Compost tea" etc.
Hemp rope, heavy duty cloth such as flags, burlap sacks and boat sails, fine paper and stationery are all commonly made of hemp, such as, for example, the original copies of the U.S. Constitution. "Men of the cloth" in a very literal sense want you arrested for the materials or tools of their trade.
Probably a halfway decent insect repellent as to some extent tobacco is. I don't have any particular desire to smoke it or eat it directly, but the plant definitely has its legitimate uses, some entirely practical and some possibly medical, and the courts and tax districts have other matters to be concerned with.
I can't support a war on drugs on a belief that the substance of natural rope or cloth or paper would be all that intoxicating in and of itself.
It's a plant. Cops have something to "plant" to warrant an arrest of a suspect or targeted individual for some other purpose. The fact that the dispensaries and at law and work so closely with law enforcement officers should point suspicion in their direction.
