Gun 'privileges' restored

Among other fundamental Democrat misperceptions and distortions of law to justify rampant gun-grabbing by partisan cops

For one things, owning guns is a right, not merely a privilege, as specifically enumerated in the Constitution as an absolute right, namely an inherent, unalienable right that "shall not be infringed."

A now-former Justice Department attorney thought Gibson shouldn’t get his gun rights back. Attorney General Pam Bondi clearly disagreed.
Mel Gibson, the actor and director as well known for his politics as his entertainment, was one of 10 individuals named in a Department of Justice notice in the Federal Register on Tuesday whose “firearms privileges” were being restored. //And he has Attorney General Pam Bondi to thank for it.

Dishonorable Discharge: Everything You Need to Know
A “dishonorable discharge” is a type of military separation given as a punishment for a serious offense during military service.
Technically, officers cannot receive a dishonorable discharge. If an officer is convicted in a court-martial, he or she may be dismissed from the service, or resign for the good of the military, which is effectively the same as a dishonorable discharge.

Typically officers convicted of such crimes are demoted in rank to private, at which point they are no longer officers and then they can be and are dishonorably discharged. But then apparently it is not proper to refer to them as officers if they have been dishonorably discharged. So to speak, moving the pawns around on a chessboard. They are not accorded that respect.
