FBI’s gun rights tease

In spite of what the law and the Constitution say, gun owners who aren't cops or former cops are always treated as felons by the FBI.

Even peaceful law-abiding mentally competent citizens who lack criminal records are considered criminally ineligible to purchase or possess firearms if they are not current or retired cops.

Neener neener neener! You can't have a gun! I had you served! Ha, ha, ha! I just got a call from some concerned neighbors, and I'm here to do a welfare check. Do you have any dangerous weapons in the home? Do you mind if I look around? Do I have your permission to search?

No. Get a life, cop. And get off my property. Crime is running rampant everywhere else right under your nose, and I don't ever want to see you around here again if you can't control it.

Background Checks for Firearm Transfers, 2019–2020
NICS Process: When a person tries to buy a firearm, the seller, known as a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL), contacts NICS electronically or by phone. The prospective buyer fills out the ATF form, and the FFL relays that information to the NICS. The NICS staff performs a background check on the buyer. That background check verifies the buyer does not have a criminal record or isn't otherwise ineligible to purchase or own a firearm. Since launching in 1998, more than 500 million checks have been done, leading to more than two million denials.

Basically the NICS process is intended to ensure that you are actually a cop if you intend to buy a firearm. Cops got the guns and they can put you in prison for owning guns regardless of the law, regardless of the Constitution and regardless of any court orders. Working cops on the beat have no intention of following the law or the Constitution with respect to the people’s rights to possess and carry firearms and other weapons.
