Disgruntled father arrested six months after
It is no wonder the father was disgruntled at the poor quality of medical care being delivered
The daughter was in fact brought to the hospital. Any care or the denial of it is solely the hospital’s responsibility. You don't ask Daddy's permission like you're going to marry his daughter in the operating room as a doctor, and if you do, well, it's a false "permission" that does not need to be given. Certainly not a warrant for the father's arrest for allegedly failing to give permission for poorly understood medical procedures in what was admittedly an emergency.
Father Arrested for Refusing to Let Doctors Save Sick Daughter, 10, From Life-Threatening Infection
Police learned of the situation when Bailey's child was brought to Idaho Falls Community Hospital on September 23, 2025, with a serious bacterial infection, as well as life-threatening sepsis complications. Bailey, 34, reportedly refused to let doctors run tests on his daughter or her feeding tubes, which could have determined what caused the infection.… Hospital staff called deputies with the Bonneville County Sheriff's Office to the hospital, saying that there was a "potential disgruntled parent." Deputies then launched an investigation into the matter, and a judge issued an arrest warrant for Bailey in December 2025. However, Bailey was not taken into custody until six months later in June. ¶Bailey was later released on Sunday, June 14, after he posted a $25,000 bond. He is next scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on July 1.
If you as a doctor are doing something legitimate to save a young girl's life in an emergency, you do so immediately without hesitating to ask Daddy's permission as if you're going to marry his daughter in the operating room.
It is always better to ask forgiveness than permission. If you need a father's permission to do something to his daughter, it is something you do not need to do to save her life.
