Cops off duty can tend to their own families and their own friends who always have the legal representation to vouch for them and prove them innocent of criminal charges and free of civil liability in court. Cops shouldn't be out looking for trouble, cruising for a brusing or taking such abhorrent extralegal actions off beat or without a warrant.
