Eventually, she received a diagnosis: rhabdomyolysis, a rare condition that causes muscle fibers to break down and release toxins into the blood. “It’s like the breakdown of your muscle to the point that it poisons your blood,” she explains.
This is all standard fare in the highly paid specialty of sports medicine, for professional athletes and performing artists, etc. Muscle breaks down and rebuilds itself stronger than it was before given adequate fluids, protein and nutrition.
Keep exercising but don't overdo it, and keep moving, gently, drink plenty of water. Too much exercise at the same time as a woman’s cycle will cause that. I don't want to say the patient is "overwrought" but there's a dirty doc overworking a medical diagnosis to boot, for something that basically just needs rest and take it easy for a couple of days.
