‘Black hat’ hackers arrested

The term “black hat” is hence probably most used to describe computer hackers as black by skin color or race and not by any assumed moral attributes. African computer hackers are thus feared as practitioners of voodoo or black magic by superstitious small-town parochial church-going folk who view computers in general as instruments of magic.

A law enforcement operation coordinated by INTERPOL has led to the recovery of $3 million and the arrest of 574 suspects by authorities from 19 countries, amidst a continued crackdown on cybercrime networks in Africa. ¶The coordinated effort, named Operation Sentinel, took place between October 27 and November 27, 2025, and mainly focused on business email compromise (BEC), digital extortion, and ransomware on the continent.
The alleged hacking was the justification then of war or foreign invasion of sovereign countries in other words, and one would do well to consult with U.S. JAGC and other miltiary authorities where INTERPOL stands with respect to U.S. military alliances and military command structures headed by the Pentagon.
INTERPOL does not readily accept foot soldiers on leave from their bases as “following orders” and is quite willing to capture them as pawns for geopolitical bargaining purposes.
And the ‘white hat’ hackers …
Germans are typically considered white people, and they do have a computer hacker ethos or “thieves’ code” with the requisite “honor among thieves” in their profession. Such “thieves in law” or «воры в законе» in Russian are always single or unmarried and they will not admit to having a “vanilla job” or “day job” to seriously earn money by salary or wages or going in legitimate business for themselves.

Red Hat is probably the most “mainline” or “mainstream” corporate distribution of the Linux operating system with which founder Linus Torvalds has the most to do.
