Bank-owned real estate mortgage foreclosure and loan repossession back-office computer systems hacked
Massive data breach with plenty of willing human inside help — definitely an inside job — and definitely on the wrong side of the law
Some of the words and phrases quoted by reporters are indicative of overt criminality with extreme greed and defensiveness over ill-gotten gains.
How the computers are programmed is by and large how they chose to program them and the company is being extremely defensive about the poor choices that have been made in securing customers' data.

The New York-based company, which employs approximately 5,000 people and is owned by several private equity firms, confirmed on Saturday (November 22) that it was breached on November 12 and has spent nearly two weeks investigating the scope of compromised data related to residential loan mortgages.

New York-based SitusAMC, which boasts 1,500 clients, said Saturday night that account records and legal agreements related to some of its clients had been impacted in the hack. ¶“The incident is now contained and our services are fully operational,” SitusAMC said. “No encrypting malware was involved.”

“Corporate data associated with certain of our clients’ relationship with SitusAMC such as accounting records and legal agreements has been impacted. Certain data relating to some of our clients’ customers may also have been impacted,” the company said. ¶SitusAMC said it has been investigating the attack in collaboration with law enforcement and security experts, and implemented measures to contain the incident, including resetting credentials, disabling remote access tools, and updating firewall rules.


Infostealer malware has been detected on systems associated with this organization, indicating a potential data breach.

On November 22, 2025, SitusAMC posted a statement indicating that a November 12 data security incident had impacted (i) corporate data tied to some of its clients’ relationships and (ii) “certain data relating to some of our clients’ customers may also have been impacted.” Although it assured clients that services remain operational, the scope, nature, and extent of the incident remain under investigation. SitusAMC processes commercial real estate applications that would normally include detailed financial information about tenants including Social Security numbers.
