"Attempted confrontation"

Isn't that the newest fresh charge on the block without reference to a particular statute?

Acting US Attorney Alina Habba subject of attempted confrontation, Bondi says
“Any violence or threats of violence against any federal officer will not be tolerated,” Attorney General Pam Bondi said.
"Last night, an individual attempted to confront one of our U.S. Attorneys — my dear friend @USAttyHabba -destroyed property in her office, and then fled the scene," Bondi posted on X Thursday. "Thankfully, Alina is ok."

U.S. attorneys don't invite just anyone into their offices, behind the bullet-proof glass, so that must have been a cleared visitor already.

Is Bondi saying then that Alina Habba destroyed property in her own office and then fled the scene? That is one possible construction of her Twitter post, and if an attorney is actually angry enough to punch holes in the wall with her fists, it would be quite reasonable to be concerned about her safety and well-being.

I would assume then that would be another attorney meeting with her or else an FBI agent, and attorneys like their privacy, so there would not be any video recordings or impartial witnesses to the alleged altercation.

Attorneys are trained to "confront" individuals or other attorneys with papers or evidence, and that's their job.

Habba and Bondi are obviously not telling us what exactly it was that the ladies were allegedly "confronted" with. Some service of process? And no claims of actual violence except for the alleged destruction of property, and no mention of exactly what property was allegedly destroyed or by whom.

Even sketchier. He had a baseball bat but returned without the bat, and now they're claiming he was smashing property without it. But not exactly what property.

How much property is there to smash bare-knuckled in the defendant's waiting room with rubber chairs and bullet proof glass windows?

It probably goes without saying Alina Habba herself as U.S. attorney wants to have the angry visitor arrested — but she can't really file pro se personal attack charges in that capacity.

DOJ seeking suspect after attack on US Attorney Alina Habba’s office
Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Thursday that an individual attempted to confront U.S. Attorney Alina Habba and “destroyed property in her office, and then fled the scene.”
"We will find this person, and the individual will be brought to justice. Our federal prosecutors, agents, and law-enforcement partners put their lives on the line every day to protect the American people, and this Department will use every legal tool available to ensure their safety and hold violent offenders fully accountable," Bondi also said.

For some guy who pounded his fist on the table or possibly broke a phone receptacle or lamp? Sober up, ladies. You've got other work to do and these "violent crime" charges are being exaggerated beyond recognition. Is there a mandatory bar association in the area?

Ah hah! It makes sense now! The ladies are being served with lawsuits from James Comey and his daughter.

Bondi Struggling to Find Lawyers to Deal With Lawsuit From Comey’s Fired Daughter
A lawsuit against the Department of Justice, filed by the daughter of former FBI Director James Comey, is being delayed because no federal attorneys are willing to take it on, according to a report. Maurene Comey, a former federal prosecutor with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York who played a key role in the criminal cases against Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, was abruptly fired by the Department of Justice in July with no explanation. What is this? Bring-your-daughter-to-work day at the D.O.J.? Not anymore it isn't. So that guy really is a criminal, but not because he was bringing a baseball bat and yelling in the office.

We're not quite getting the full story yet.

Suspect accused of breaching Alina Habba’s office now in custody: ‘We got him’

Attorney General Pam Bondi announced early Saturday that the Justice Department (DOJ) captured a suspect who entered acting U.S. Attorney Alina Habba’s New Jersey office earlier this week in an attempt to “confront” her. ¶No injuries were reported following the Wednesday incident, but property was destroyed before the suspect fled the scene, according to Bondi. The attorney general credited the FBI and U.S. Marshals, as well as Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) for the arrest.

Again. "Property was destroyed" but not, apparently, by the suspect himself. Or is that the service of a lawsuit for damages, and not any actual physical damage to items in Alina Habba's office? Unless she damaged the property herself in her rage. Which was a good reason for the guy to flee for his life.

If he would have been drunk and disorderly, at most a misdemeanor, but no, nothing so far to distinguish him from just another angry customer in a very long line of very angry citizens with legitimate complaints.
